Have I filled the Bertie/NoK Personal Plothole!? 😱
So, honestly, there's nothing in canon that proves this, so it's just my own interpretation, but what if Hetty said ^^, and sent Nell on the hunt she did, cuz Deeks put GJB's name with a fake number on all his paperwork as the emergency contact for LAPD/NCIS stuff (since it's obviously not on his hospital paperwork)? Basically as a dead end so they didn't go reaching out to Bertie?
This would answer the "why would his child-abusing father actually be his next of kin?" Answer: Deeks pointed them that way!
Perhaps it was even in a "keep mama safe" way so no one can find her (cuz at that point he doesn't know daddy is dead, so maybe he worries about him trying to find her/them?)?
Just a thought, but kinda fills at least some of the questions there!
