I'm so torn and so upset. Please tell me Emma wasn't lying, that she didn't make it up. I've been researching articles on it and they're all so gray, it's unclear in all of them if she was telling the truth or not. I needed her as an icon so badly, I needed a fellow victim to stand up and make international news, and represent all of us victims whose rapists were never apprehended. I needed this so badly, it was going to make a huge difference in how schools handle rape allegations, and I thought it would make campuses safer for girls in the future. But if she lied and just, made it all up? How does it make the rest of us look? All of us, who tried to report our attacks and were ignored. If they didn't take us seriously then, how can they take us seriously now? Please tell me she wasn't lying, I needed her. She was going to make a difference. She was representing all of us whose reports were ignored, whose attackers went uncharged and unpunished. She was an icon that we needed so badly, and if she made it all up, I don't know how authority figures will ever take us seriously. I'm so upset right now
