Idk if this makes sense but watching Dukat's arcs over the seasons of DS9 is kinda like watching 7th grade boys doing the egg baby health assignment. It's like will these writers take this absolutely fantasticly written facist war criminal and not ruin him at any point over their 176 episodes? And in the end they don't and Dukat is successfully portrayed as an irredeemable, delusional, racist egomaniac, but. At several points in the narrative you're left unsure if the writers understood how seriously portraying facist dictators needed to be taken and the egg almost cracked.
