Post Max-death, Jason inviting Richie and Ruth and Pete and all the nerds to a party and Ruth gets drunk and Pete hands her over to a mostly sober Richie so he can continue talking to Steph and Ruth drunkenly confesses to Richie and he doesn't understand/thinks it's a joke at first until she lets it all out and he just sits there in silence for the rest of the night and doesn't bring it up until some day where they're studying in the library after school (without Pete bc he was sick) and Richie subtly brings it up so now they have to awkwardly confront their feelings because they're two stupid teens who've never been in relationships before and Pete shows up at school the next day and they're holding pinkies and blushing and Max doesn't kill them and they live happily ever after the end send tweet
