( wow, okay, she really needs some sleep. ) “ ... lucas, i think you're the last person in this room that needs to worry about that. ” her mouth commits to a smile, small and quiet, and she brushes her thumb over the hook of his shoulder. “ all she needs from you is to be by her side. and i think you've done a damn good job of that already. ” he might be the most steadfast kid she's ever known, and of the lot of them, it speaks volumes.
