34: tonight, as I left the fluorescence of the city behind and birmingham faded in my rear view mirror I was overwhelmed by the stars. brilliantly shining, they helped guide my way home. it was as if I was transported back to a simpler time when gps had not even been a seed of a thought, but rather people used compasses and maps and the stars of the night sky to find their way. the thing about stars is this: it has to be pretty dark for you to truly see their brilliance. if other light is vying for your attention they can be easy to overlook. when everything else, all other light, is taken away, though, you are left with these dancing celestial orbs of flame that are brilliant and majestic and wondrous. it's like Christ - when all is stripped away, and you think all that's left is the darkness, look up and see his glorious splendor on display. his light shines out of the darkness and proclaims his majesty. #theyearofhappy #bible #stars #jesuschrist
