im only starting to read THG now, im half way through catching fire and i see lots of stuff about the last books ending was it really terrible? like what kind of terrible, badly written? cliche? questions unanswered? too convenient?

OK I'LL TRY TO EXPLAIN WITHOUT SPOILING BEEB

it was in my opinion absolutely cliché

the ultimate fates of like, 80% of my faves were never revealed

dealt terribly with the realities of war when it had previously done very well. it painted the revolutionaries as as bad as the capitol for resorting to violence back (at least at certain points)

the last chapters were really rushed imo

i think a lot of these problems come from the fact that this series is in the first person which was, in my view, a huge mistake for an ensemble-based series like this one

gale did not mean to kill prim at all, in any way, not even on a subconscious level (i don't know how unpopular that one is it depends on where you go in fandom i guess)

i liked mockingjay the best out of all three books except for the last twenty pages or so so

His face inspires no feels in me (it's pretty generically handsome)

I feel that he lacks the necessary sass

Day 24: Your least favorite secondary character

Mrs. Everdeen

I’m sorry, but this character just had no purpose whatsoever. She spends the majority of her time mourning over the death of her husband, which yes is very sad, but you have two daughters to take care of! When your children need you, you step it up and be their mother. It was just as difficult for them to lose their father, and yet they still found the strength to keep on living. Maybe I’m being a tad harsh, but women who have no backbone without their husband beside them tend to piss me off.
