// This isn't over 'til we talk in the light // Said I was sober, but you knew that I lied // You grip the wheel, maybe I'd like to try // I'll flip it over, with you and me inside // I won't atone for debts I paid for in full // Hang up my shame on display for you // I'm not the same, and you don't get to decide // Who gets replaced, who gets to live and to die // So what do you want from me, so what do you want? //
“Okay, I’m almost done with this essay. I just need to work out a few kinks,” Liam says, proud of himself for actually getting his assignment almost finished before the due date instead of like being a week late like he usual is.
“I like bondage,” Theo hums from his spot on Liam’s bed where he’s been reading one of Liam’s novels from his cluttered bookcase.
“Shut up!” Liam shouts but his concentration wains, the chimera’s words rattling around in his brain and conjuring up filthy images of Theo bound, and in leather. “Fuck!”
“I’m always down for that,” Theo teases, tossing the book onto the bed and smirks that sly smirk of his.
Liam growls lowly in frustration, his fangs threatening to elongate as he skin suddenly starts to feel hot and Theo’s smirk grows.
“You want to be top or bottom.”
Theo's words hang in the air and desire swirling within Liam. He tries to regain his focus on the essay, but the image of bondage and Theo's teasing remarks continue to distract him. Liam's mind races, torn between his annoyance at Theo's interruption and the undeniable connection and tension that has always simmered between them.
With a frustrated growl, Liam abandons his chair and pounces on Theo, pinning him down on his bed. Their bodies collide, and Liam's anger is quickly overshadowed by the raw intensity of their proximity. He can feel the heat radiating from Theo's body, their breaths mingling in the charged atmosphere.
"I fucking hate you," Liam mutters, his voice layered with undeniable fondness and irritation.
Theo's smirk only widens, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "Mmm, that throbbing bulge says otherwise," he taunts, his voice dripping with innuendo, not even fighting as the beta’s grip on his wrists intensifies and presses him harder into the mattress, a low groan emitting from the back of his throat.
Liam's frustration melts away, replaced by a surge of arousal that courses through his veins. He leans in closer, his lips hovering just inches away from Theo's ear. "You're insufferable," he whispers, husky and mouth full of fangs.
Theo's breath hitches, his eyes darkening. "Prove it," he challenges, his voice barely a whisper.
In that moment, all rational thought is abandoned as Liam's desire takes over. He crashes his lips onto Theo's, their mouths melding together in a passionate frenzy. Their bodies writhe against each other, a dance of desire and frustration, as they give in to the undeniable chemistry that has always existed between them.
Theo's hands roam Liam's back, pulling him closer, while Liam's fingers tangle in Theo's hair, deepening the kiss. The room fills with the sound of their ragged breaths and the intoxicating scent of their shared desire.
As their bodies move in sync, the boundaries between hate and desire blur, leaving them both lost in a whirlwind of pleasure. In that moment, the unfinished essay, and the outside world fade away, replaced by the electric pull and intoxicating connection that has always blazed between them like a wildfire.
Thiam week? Should I post something? Everyone should know that I’m a last second person so I can’t be held responsible for finally thinking about this right now. 😂😂😂

“Him? You’re dating him?” Stiles scowls and Liam’s jaw clenches, gripping Theo’s hand tighter because he feels like he’s going to pass out or burst into sobs- the smell of concern wafting off of Theo helps nothing.
“I know he’s not part of the pack y-.” The yet gets cut off.
“Damn right he’s not. What the hell Liam?” His eyes tear away from Stiles and his harsh words, landing on Scott instead, he doesn’t look nearly as upset. Thank god.
“My parents don’t know, please don’t tell them.” It softens something on Lydia and Kira’s faces; Liam can’t tell if it’s how normal-teenager that sounded or them getting more okay with the fact that Theo and Liam are dating.
“We’d never, don’t worry.” Lydia assures and gives a smile that probably shouldn’t be as reassuring as it is considering Stiles is all but seething next to her.
“Like hell we won’t- you’re dating a murderer!” It makes Liam’s stomach drop- whether it be the idea that he might be outed or the way Theo’s whole body tenses up hearing what Stiles called him is up for debate, but Liam’s pretty sure it’s both, and probably a million other things about this situation.
“No you won’t.” It’s the first thing Theo’s said throughout this whole thing, his voice sharp and eyes even harsher.
“He speaks! I thought you were going to sit there brooding while Liam tried to convince us you’re not the monster I know you are.” There’s already so much anger built up in Liam’s system, specifically towards Stiles for how he talks about Theo, that the comment almost sends him spiraling into something that’d earn him a forced cold shower a year ago- but Theo rubs his thumb across Liam’s knuckles and that helps, it always does. He wishes he could shove it in Stiles’ face and show him that Theo isn’t a monster, that he cares, that he deserves a second chance, that he’s already changed significantly.
“Out Liam to his parents and I’ll have a lot more to say.” It must just dawn on Stiles that what Liam meant by not telling his parents is that he’s not out to them yet as his face falters, shaking himself out for a moment before he gives a short nod.
“I- I’m not going to out him. But I’m not okay with you two dating.” A beat passes where Stiles and Theo hold too strong eye contact before Scott interrupts them by clearing his throat.
“Stiles that’s enough, if Liam’s happy and nobody’s getting hurt then we’re all going to do our best to support him and Theo.” He says easily and turns to look at Liam and Theo head on, holding a hand up to Stiles’ open mouth as he was obviously going to start arguing.
“I’m not promising it’s going to be easy or there won’t be tension for a little bit, but I’m happy you guys are happy. And I’ve seen that Theo’s already been changing, I know he’s not a monster.” Liam would go bear hug Scott right now if he wasn’t in a room full of people that are still divided on opinions about his relationship- he thinks Scott gets it anyways.
“Thanks Scott.”
“I can give him a chance for you Liam but one step out of line and I’m killing him.” Ever so blunt, Malia gives a short nod and eyes Theo for a moment, she’s not lunging to rip his throat out so Liam will take what he can get.
“We gave Peter a second chance, I don’t see why we shouldn’t give Theo one too.” Lydia isn’t looking at Theo or Liam as she says it, instead staring straight at Stiles with a challenging look in her eye. Sometimes Liam forgets how scary the redhead can be with just a simple expression and crossed arms.
“Fine. But when he goes evil again, I know he will, I’m not going to let him off easy.” It’s a middle ground and that’s all Theo and Liam were really looking for from this conversation— they knew the pack wouldn’t be jumping up and down with support, but no blood has been shed and that’s enough, and Liam knows they’ll come around more. Eventually.

It’s not a big moment realization, no moment of dawning that washes over Theo like a wave crashing down, if he’s honest- it’s pretty anticlimactic. He’s midway through driving Liam home from his first lacrosse game of the new season, listening to the other ramble about how they totally should’ve won because the last shot the other team made was ‘super illegal’ and Theo just- knows.
The pieces of everything that had happened in the months before, the years when he really thinks about it, fall into place and he realizes all of it’s been slowly building. He’s super in love with Liam Dunbar. Fuck, this wasn’t on his new year resolution list he made- per Liam’s request- when things settled and he could ‘start new’ after being casted down to hell for however long he was really there. It doesn’t matter, it doesn’t change anything.
“Theo?” The giggling voice of Liam brings Theo back to how he’s stopped at a green light, supposedly for too long since Dunbar has a grin ear to ear.
“Get lost in your head?” He lets out a small huff and rolls his shoulders back while turning the street to Liam’s house.
“You’re blushing, thinking of someone special?” Theo quirks a brow with a glance at Liam, he’s practically the only person Theo’s been around since he got back. Him and select people from the pack, Mason and Corey a lot, but they’re dating and Liam has to know Theo would never impose on that.
“No one.” The lie is such bullshit even Theo feels like cringing.
“Liar. Who is it? Someone new?” As if Theo has any past relationships to compare to, or like Liam would even know if he did.
“They’re not new.” Not in the slightest. Maybe that’s why Theo likes Liam, he’s not new, he’s familiar and trustworthy, someone Theo considers to be a person he can rely on. That’s something Theo’s never really had before, he likes it, whatever it’d be called.
“But they are someone! C’mon you gotta tell me.” A grin creeps over Theo’s face when he looks over at Liam’s too eager expression- he smells like sweat and too strong cologne and happiness and comfort- Theo would bottle the scent if he could, drown himself in it just to have the sense of Liam at his side.
“Not so sure that’s a good idea.” Then again- Theo’s already been to hell, what’s the worst that can happen? If Liam wants to send him back because of a crush Theo could always go into hiding, he remembers all the old tunnels the dread doctors would use, he’s sure he’d get far enough away from California that Liam wouldn’t be able to find him easily. He’s getting ahead of himself— he hasn’t even told Liam yet, he needs to stop planning his ‘what-if’ escape.
“I won’t tell anyone, swear. Not even Mason.” The eyes Liam is giving Theo are downright evil, all big and puppy dog like, pleading with Raeken, practically begging him to spill his guts.
“You really wanna know?” Excitement is basically pouring off of Liam, it covers all his past scents, clogging Theo’s senses and making his head dizzy with the thought that- oh yeah, he’s definitely in love.
“Yes! Tell me, tell me, tell me-.” He cuts Dunbar off with a head shake, knowing he’d go on for hours if not stopped.
“Okay fine, it’s you. I’m blushing cause I’m thinking about you.” His eyes don’t leave the stretch of empty road in front of them, listening to how Liam’s heartbeat sputters and kicks up a few notches, smelling how he goes from excited to confused in seconds, feeling how the air seems to shift in the truck. It makes Theo uneasy and his hands grip at the steering wheel tighter, he hopes it’s not obvious.
“Why am I making you blush?” There’s almost concern in the too genuine question, he really hasn’t put the pieces together.
“Cause I want to kiss you.” Theo has no fucking idea where that came from- he’d slap himself if Liam wouldn’t be able to see it. That’s the exact opposite of what he had meant to say, he was going for something subtle, to nudge Liam in the right direction, not be so extremely direct like that.
“Sorry.” Raeken mutters and squeezes his eyes shut. He totally just fucked things with Liam forever- that plan of escape apparently isn’t such a ‘what-if’ and more of a ‘right-now-before-the-pack-kills-you-again’ thing.
“I want to kiss you too.” Liam says and Theo presses the breaks without thinking, sending both of them stumbling forward a bit but Theo doesn’t care, he turns to stare at Liam head on. Waiting for the moment he starts to laugh and say it was a joke, waiting for him to throw the truck door open and say he’ll walk the rest of the way home, waiting for him to take it back.
“Are you going to keep staring or kiss me?” It takes all of five seconds before Theo’s throwing himself forward to press his lips to Liam’s.
His hand tangles into Liam’s hair instantly, holding him in close, heart racing as their lips move gently against each others. Despite the desperate way Theo’s holding on, Liam is much more careful with how his hand comes to cup Theo’s jaw and his forehead presses to Raeken’s when he pulls away. There’s a soft smile on his lips and his eyes are blown wide again- Theo can’t make himself look away.
“Kiss me again.” He whispers and feels his whole body relax when Liam obeys, still delicate as ever, but it’s perfect. So perfect.
“We should probably get back to the house before another car comes.”
“Right, right- course, yeah.” God he’s an idiot.
“But we should keep kissing when we’re home, if you want to.”
“Yes, yup, definitely want to- ahem- yeah, that’d- that’d be nice.” Liam chuckles lightly and Theo’s whole face burns red as he starts to drive again.
|| tags : theo meeting liam’s parents for the first time, background mason/corey, liam’s step dad knows about the supernatural but I can’t remember if that’s canon or not — this is lowkey a crack fic —
“And you’re… Theo?” Raeken gives a shaky smile as he nods, hand gripped in Liam’s step dad’s a little too tight. It’s not like Theo’s never met peoples parents before, there were plenty of “relationships” he was in to get leverage for the dread doctors— but this is the first time first impressions really do matter, and he’s trying to be genuine.
“He seems tense.” Mrs Dunbar murmurs to her husband and he hums along, finally dropping Theo’s hand.
“We should eat.” Suddenly Theo’s wrist is caught by Liam’s hand and he’s being dragged over to the dining room table where Corey and Mason already sit, they’re here as a buffer for the new couple. Theo seriously debated kissing Mason and Corey when he found out they’d be there to keep things less tension filled.
“It smells delicious ma’am.” It doesn’t make Liam’s mom smile like Theo was hoping for, instead she gives a short nod that almost looks annoyed. What the hell is he doing wrong? It’s been ten minutes.
“Oh my dad cooked.” Ah.
“Well it smells great sir.” That gets him more a nice reaction, a smile and a nod. Liam said that his step dad might be more friendly than his mother, apparently she’s not a people person and how she ended up with someone as extroverted as Liam’s step dad is “totally insane” according to both Liam and Mason.
“Thank you Theo, it’s nice to be appreciated around here.” That’s all it takes for the rest of the group to loosen up, Liam throwing out a whine that he always says thank you at dinner, Mason saying he doesn’t and he just eats like a wild animal which makes Corey snort and share a look with Theo— it gets easier, thank god.
And soon enough dinner is cleared as is dessert and Theo’s able to settle down in front of the couch on a mound of blankets with Liam at his side. They agreed to watch a movie with his parents and while Theo has no idea why the hell they did that, it doesn’t seem like it’ll be horrible. Liam’s step father is busy popping popcorn with Mason and Corey at his side, Theo can hear the three of them bickering about what candy should be mixed with the popcorn. Liam has his head on Theo’s collarbone, he doesn’t smell as anxious as he did earlier which is nice.
But- Theo can feel Liam’s mother’s eyes boring into the back of his head. He repeats in his head that this is fine, it’s just motherly behavior, he thinks? He can’t be sure considering the whole ‘raised in the sewers’ thing. It’s unnerving even if it is normal. He doesn’t know what he did to tick this woman off- she’s not the one that knows about the supernatural, that’s Liam’s step dad and he’s been cheery all night long, so whatever Theo did is beyond him.
“Babe you okay?” He’s brought from his thoughts by Liam’s gentle voice, which is definitely a cover as he’s staring at Theo like he can see right through him.
“Yeah, perfect.” Dunbar’s lip twitches and he turns around enough to look at his mother- ah shit.
“Mom can you stop staring? It’s freaking us out.” Jesus Christ why is he talking to his mother like that? Does he have a deathwish? Even Theo knows that’s unacceptable-
“Sorry honey it’s just nice to see you with a partner.” Well that sounded far too genuine for someone with such a blank expression.
“It’s fine just- maybe not so hard?” She hums to her son and leans back on the couch, eyes drifting to the Tv as Theo tries not to choke on air. What the fuck was that?!
“Relax, she’s just bad at showing emotion.” All Theo can do is nod and blink a few times, he swears this relationship is going to send him into cardiac arrest at some point.

“You’re really leaving?” Theo doesn’t look at Liam as he asks the question, hands balled into fists to hide how his claws are digging into his palms and probably have a layer of blood covering them.
“I- I’m sorry Theo.” Liam’s voice cracks and Theo flinches at the sound, he hates this.
“Go. If you’re gonna go, go.” The bite it’s supposed to hold gets cut through when his voice shakes and goes too high pitched, the tears he’s been holding back for this whole conversation threatening to spill over dangerously soon.
“I wish it was different Theo, I’m so sorry, I don’t want to do this.” It’s a plea that sends a tremble down Theo’s spine, he thinks he’d fall to his knees if he had even an ounce less of strength.
“No. It’s your pack, I get it, just go.” The selfish part of his brain wants to scream that he can be more than them, can give Liam more, but he knows it’d be a lie. He just needs Liam more, more than he’d ever like to admit.
“You don’t get it.” Not really. Theo hates that Liam can see through him so easily.
“I’ve never had a pack, or people to care about like that, but if I did- I’d leave too.” It’s a bold faced lie but Theo can’t say that, then he’d have to say that who he trusts like that is Liam, has only ever been Liam. He think it’ll only ever be Liam.
“I’m so sorry.” Liam pulls his duffle bag up to his shoulder and gives Theo one last longing look before turning on his heels and walking out the door.
Five seconds go by before a sob bursts out of Theo’s mouth, it takes him so off guard he doesn’t have time to cover his mouth beforehand, he knows Liam probably heard it as he walks down the stairs. It doesn’t seem to matter when his legs start to feel like they’re going to give out and all he can do is drop to the ground, sobbing in a way he’s never done before, clutching a hand at his throat because he swears there’s knives being dragged through his esophagus with every breath. It hurts- all of him hurts, worse than the experiments the dread doctors would do, worse than the fights he got into, worse than Tara ripping his heart out over and over again, worse than all of it combined. He’d say he feels like he’s dying but he’s already died and it didn’t feel like this, didn’t hurt quite this bad.
