Arc 1: Beach Front {End}
Finally calming the newly hatched pokemon down, Kuuipo smiled as he cradled the two girls in his arms. He knew he wasn’t fit to be a parent, he could hardly take care of himself, but the idea of raising them made him excited. Besides, he knew his parents and Mocha had plenty of experience with this sort of stuff, so he wouldn’t be alone.
He hummed as he nudged them gently with his snout, cooing at their indescribable gibberish and sniffling.
“I think I’ll name you...”
He looked at the sniffling azurill, “Thieda.”
Then to the lapris, “And you’ll be Camilla.”
They seemed to calm down after receiving names, perhaps they understood him. He wasn’t sure how long it took for pokemon of their species to mature to that stage.
“Kuuipo!”
Two frantic voices come from the down the beach. He doesn’t catch it at first, but the the frantic trills caught him as they got closer. He turned to see his parents rushing towards him. Before he could call out they were already upon him, gathering him into a protective hug.
“Kuuipo, where have you been!” Anankos cried as he held his son. “Oh we were so worried, you usually never leave that long, we thought you ran away or something.”
Iku nodded in agreement but spared no words, only sighing in relief.
After their fretting they took notice of the baby pokemon in Kuuipo’s hands, exchanging looks of doubt.
“Kuuipo...” Iku started carefully, “Are these two... yours?”
Kuuipo nodded, “I guess so, I found them on the beach and couldn’t find the moms.”
Anankos let out a large breath, “Oh good, for a moment I thought-oh whatever. They’re adorable, but are you sure you’re ready for this?”
He nodded confidently, likely the most he’s ever been on a topic. He handed Camilla over for Iku to hold, who accepted with a small hint of excitement on his stony face. “I-I want to try at least, because they have nobody to protect them, so I might as well right? Just like you and dad always protect me, I want to be there for somebody else too!”
Iku and Anankos exchanged soft looks and beamed at their son with pride. Seems Kuuipo was finally starting to grow up a little.
