akechi service dog thoughts;
i think he would originally want to go with like. a doberman or a great dane for the "scare factor" but he would end up finding a golden retriever or labrador retriever who, upon seeing akechi, starting wagging their tail fast enough that it smacked over a glass on the table in the room and shattered it
akechi goro is not immune to the golden retriever puppy dog eyes and neither am i
i also think he would name the pup something norse mythos related, perhaps sigyn if the pup is a girl (sigyn is loki's wife) or lævatienn maybe (a sword loki crafted). he would also insist on the proper character being used and break a lot of veterinary computers if he went with that one lol ("laevatienn" is also a spell loki is able to cast)
i just think he deserves something to focus on and have a challenge that isn't just "survival" or "being akiren's rival" post canon. i know it's helped me a lot to have another living being to take care of and focus on thats not a partner or friend, and to have that motivation to work together with my service dog (his name is achilles and i love him so much). i also think that if he doesn't go to therapy right away, or even if he does, having a dog who can alert to his episodes (panic or lash out or otherwise, because we all know he isn't paying attention to or acknowledging those) would help him actually trust that he can get better. i don't know if i'm explaining it well tbh, but when someone else, even if its an animal, sees your "faults" or "flaws" and is able to nonjudgmentally help you calm down, it can help you realize that not everything is so bad.
i also think akiren would get mona registered as an esa just for the shits and giggles of saying mona is his emotional support annoyance
