The hobbit lay awake in the shadow of the mountain, quickly losing his courage as the night crept by. He soon realized he was not the only one who could not sleep and joined the company's leader at the edge of their camp. Neither one said a word, but for the rest of that night Bilbo's mind was a bit calmer, his legs had found a little more strength, and he resolved that there wasn't a thing in the world he wouldn't do for Thorin.
