Thimbleberry Jam (Vegan)
a poem from my amazing friend Emma that genuinely changed my life
Do you like thimbleberries?
Yes!
No!
I've not tried them!

Wild Berries: Thimbleberry and Raspberry shine like rubies near Sylvan Pass, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

In other news, the thimbleberries that I rescued a couple years ago are absolutely loaded with flowers:
I'm really excited for all their fruit!
For those that don't know, thimbleberries are a native rubus in my area, and here they usually can be found growing in forested areas. These are growing in full sun with a thick mulch & heavily shaded soil, and they seem to be thriving. They support a bunch of native bee species, including bumble bees, and at least one moth.
Deer also like to munch on them, but seem to prefer my raspberries. They also have been doing better in our unusually cool and wet spring as compared to the raspberries.
A small haul of thimbleberries, chanterelles, and boletes! 🍄❤️
picking thimbleberries to make jam. This was a dynamite year for berries.
