Thick provisioned lazy-zeroed: O tamanho do disco é totalmente alocado para o disco virtual, porém a zeragem do disco é feito durante a operação de 'Write' no primeiro bloco. Gravações posteriores tem a mesma performance do eager-zeroed.

Desvantagem: Performance intermediária, alocação de espaço que ainda não está em uso é feito na gravação do primeiro bloco.

Thick provisioned eager-zeroed: O tamanho do disco é totalmente alocado para o disco virtual e seu conteúdo totalmente preenchido com "Zero", isto acontece no momento do provisionamento o que o torna mais lento durante a criação, porém mais performático.

Thin Provisioning: Apenas o espaço utilizado é alocado para o disco virtual, o disco é provisionado rapidamente, como desvantagem: performance na primeira escrita do bloco de dados, porém nas demais operações de ‘Write’ a performance se iguala ao eager-zeroed.
