I love thing 6!!
So like, Thing Number Six for my 22 In ‘22 project was supposed to be the red cowl scarf, but I took a break from that today to make a hanging plant basked for Middlest Spawn:
So like…does that make this Thing Six since I finished it first? Or did I finish Thing Seven prior to Thing Six?
Discuss.

Thing 6
Thing 6 for Rudai 23 is Reflective Practice.
As a quick recap - Thing 3 looked at Image banks and the task was to download an image from one of image banks and then upload it to our blog, Thing 4 dealt with Communicating Visually and we had to download an image editing app and create something visual, and Thing 5 was on Video Presentations and we had to create either a video presentation or a recording.
I am not a particularly outgoing person and so some of the tasks (including setting up a blog!) have been quite daunting for me. However, my favourite Thing so far was Thing 3, learning about copyright and creative commons was very interesting and was certainly not something that I had thought about before. Exploring the different Image Banks was great as well and it really got me thinking about how images are used and how they can be used. I only wish I had more time to browse Pixabay!
It was a pity that I had technical issues for Thing 4, I’m not sure what went wrong with my phone so there is not much that I could do differently but I think I was able to adjust very well to the issue and complete Thing 4 even if it was not what I had originally thought I would do. My one hesitation with Thing 4 is that PhotoFunia was geared more towards adding portraits as opposed to text to its images, which is why I only had one opinion (although the image and quote worked out very well despite this).
Thing 5 was the most difficult, not in terms of the actual application of the task, but the idea generation and what to do for it. I did struggle with what to do for the video presentation and looking back at the presentation I’m not entirely happy with it. If I could do it over I would add it more slides and information and get some more images from Pixabay to add to it. Despite this it did allow me to get some good hands-on practice with Powtoon and I will be much more confident when using Powtoon again and when creating my next presentation.
The entire Rudai 23 process has been a bit intimidating for me, I am not an Informational Professional, I have only just finished my MA and I am hoping to apply to Library School in a few months; so everything that is covered in Rudai 23 is all new to me. Despite this, Rudai 23 is invaluable to me not only for introducing the different subjects and tools that I can use now and in the furure but also for the hands-on and practical experience it gives me. I am very much looking forward to continuing!
Edit: I had finished writing this reflective piece and I was looking through Things 7 and 8, Thing 8 caught my eye and I decided to give it a go. I had never done info graphs before and I found it quite fun and interesting and I will definitely be using them and Piktochart again in the future!
Edit 2: I tried downloading Quik and Ripl again but it still didn’t work.
Thing 6- Creating and Editing Docs
Alright! So I’ve been working on this one for a few weeks. Finding the time to write up a narrative during work has been tricky! I will upload the actual story here after my shift (my phone’s in the circ workroom at the moment!), but I wanted to at least update with my feedback about using Microsoft Word on my phone as a medium to create and edit documents.
So here we go!
OMFG PAUL IS REALLY LEAVING 1D I CANNOT I THINK I WILL COLLAPSE I CAN'T DO THIS THIS IS TOO MUCH NO NO NO PLEASE OH GOD LET THIS BE A FALSE THING I DON'T WANNA BELIEVE I CAN'T
Thing 6
I decided to try QuickOffice for this thing. I wasn't expecting to like it, but I really did. I can't see writing an entire document on it, but the ability to edit a bit, track changes, and spell check is nice. And it interfaces with my Google Drive app, which I already had installed. I think I'll keep this one and see if I use it. I just might!
