Today would have been your 14th Birthday. It’s been 4 months since you’ve passed and there isn’t any time that goes by where I don’t think of you. For the majority of my life you were by my side… through everything: Love, Heartbreak, all of the moves, all of the struggles, the happiness, the pain, all my success, all my failures, finding ways to deal with life, helping me cope with death, all of the personal losses, marriage, separation, the depression, the anxiety, the sadness, the healing, and most importantly - being able to find strength to go on. Unfortunately – you aren’t here with me at the time I need you the most. But I think I’ve learned enough from your love (though judgmental at times), your fierceness, and most of all your stubbornness to get through this as we’ve done countless times before. Also, Falco has decided to take up some of your mannerism - so strange but kinda refreshing. Maybe it was your time. Maybe Moxy needed her protector sooner than I thought. Maybe you're gone because the universe deems it that I have to get through this point in my life by myself. I know 13 3/4 years is a long time, especially with stealing an extra few years with your broken ticker, but I guess it's very fitting that the ultimate problem was that you had a big heart... 2018 was one of the hardest years ever as I've had to say goodbye to some of the most important things in my life - and I know that there is no promise that 2019 may not be any better. But I do feel that there is now hope - whether it's you helping light the dark... I know that it's there. With that said, today I celebrate you with tears, sadness, naps, smiles, laughter, hugs, kisses. and several glasses of whisky. You have always been my soulmate, Lenny. I just hope that I live up to be the person you thought I was. I hope everyone finds their own Lenny and hold them as closely as I did him.
