Things That Excite Me, 1st Edition

So yeah, I had this idea that it may be a good idea to sit down once a month and write down a list of things that excite you. But I say lots of things without ever doing them. So how about I start now and see if this is useful or interesting.

Going to Canada for four weeks

Starting June 10th! I've never been there and I could really use a vacation (the first two weeks will be vacation, the rest work).

Monad transformers

Last week I didn't know such a thing existed. I want to understand why the way you use them in Haskell feels so awkward. And I'd like to be able to explain them to other programmers.

Knowing that I can do pretty much whatever I want with my apartment

That's one of the advantages of keeping your own place even if you're in some sort of long-term relationship. I could paint all the walls with chalkboard paint! Or hang the guitar somewhere else! Or paint one wall pink and another one green! Or hang my laundry high up somewhere closer to the 3.5 meter high ceiling! Or not!

That's three things. Three is not so bad. I'll leave it at three.
