I’m making this as a reminder to myself I have things to be proud of. As an attempt to make myself feel better about me and things I have done I’m making a list of things that I put myself down for that I should be fucking proud of. So to myself read this next time you forget these things.
Dear Krystina
1. The last three cosplays you made were good. You always say they suck and put down everything that was wrong. Fuck that you worked REALLY HARD on them and you did your best. All three aren’t perfect yes but you tried your best. If others didn’t like them or did better that shouldn’t take away from the work you put into them. Cullen was the first time you did armour and it was hard. It was a good try and next time it will be even better. So you were a fat Sailor Moon that doesn’t mean your cosplay was bad and you shouldn’t be proud. That wig made you cry but you finished it anyways and it looks great. The Warden was done in a really short time and you put a lot of work into that jacket and it’s pretty fucking cool. Keep cosplaying you’re doing a good job.
2. You have finished more than one book in only a week or less. To others that’s nothing but there was a time you didn’t read at all and reading a whole book was a really big struggle for you. You worked endlessly on getting past your dyslexia and you read all the time now. GOOD FUCKING JOB! That was really hard for you and it took you years to get to where you are when you never thought you would be able to enjoy reading or be as fast as you are. Next time you’re in your room look at your books. Everyone is a trophy that says you did it!
3. So your fat now. It sucks a look I know. Don’t let how you feel about your body make you forget your past in sports. You have a huge box of ribbons from swimming, water polo, diving and syncro. Most of them were top three. That’s pretty impressive. You came second at U18 nations at 16. The next year you won an award and a $4000 grant for your sport. An award that is only given to 50 athletes in all of Canada. They thought you were good enough to one day play for the Olympic team. Do you know anyone else that has won that. NO! That’s a big fucking deal and you put yourself down for being fat. You worked hard and were a great athlete you will lose the weight. It’s just hard right now but YOU. CAN. DO. IT.
4. You have amazing friends. Yes them being amazing isn’t something you did but you always think you are a horrible person, your personality sucks and no one should want to be around you. You can’t suck that bad if these amazing people want to be around you right? You are to hard on yourself people love you for a reason remember that. So pick your chin up and be the person that they wanted to be friends with in the first place.
You will get out of this dark place you’re in. You are capable of more then you give yourself credit for. Next time you’re feeling low just remember what Christopher Robin said. “You are braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”
