"An Economic Protest, Is the most successful way to protest" Garvey, Nkrumah, Montgomery Bus Boycott and all of our founding fathers and mothers of Pan-Africanism taught us that- but somehow we always look to reinvent the wheel instead of following and building upon a proven blueprint. History has proven over and over again that the only time change truly happens is when the livelihood and economics of a nation or a people are effected - then people sit up and change to adapt or get empowered through economic independence. Dependency always empowers supremacy and reinforces inferiority. All the protests, marches, anger and white allies didn't truly bring about Civil Rights legislation in America until the adversely effected learned the power of economics and took matters into their own hands with the Montgomery Boycott that put a dent in the economy which America could not afford. The majority of African nations did not proceed toward and attain independence without the funding that Nkrumah gave and reclaiming our economy through our resources. When we deviated from these practices and became complacent in our dependency is how we got to where we are today still trying to figure out what independence and freedom really looks like! It is a horrible shame to see resource filled Sierra Leone in desperate need of help yet the AU and all of our billionaires in Africa are silent as if they are not witnessing this crisis - #IfNotUsThenWho?
