The whole divine magic being shut down reminded me of my thought process when I first was thinking of making a dnd character. I wanted a godly something, landed on a cleric because part of me will always be a grandma who wants to take care of people. That brought in a interesting topic as none of the gods I researched I really connected with. So I thought why can’t the godly being be something of a Traveler type, a god made by belief. A character came to me, a old grey skinned orc who was a war hero fought for most of her life. Many she fought with died in the process she’s the only one alive, eventually the death and continuous war made her tired. She retired from being a solider, a warrior. Instead she became a healer, helping those that wander through she maybe adopts a lot of people that need it. Her god for being a cleric is made in the image of her old battle hardened self, an image of a valkyrie. The god isn’t separate from the cleric it’s a bit of shared soul in two bodies thing where they are the same people in different states. I will say this all came about because of an mirror image a younger angelic woman facing an older more worn, but still alive. Also maybe I wanted a scene of the cleric doing divine intervention, seeing their younger visage and having happy tears in the cleric’s eyes.
