I've decided I probably should make Eldwin's trans identity more relevant to his character. I stand by that systemic transphobia probably doesn't exist in their world, like on a government level... but of course it wouldn't make sense that no one would ever use it against him, trans identities might be generally accepted and recognised as a real and valid thing, but it's still something that can be weaponised against you, right?

Now I'm involving it though, I need to think more about when he transitions. And by transition I just mean like. fucking boobs-be-gone. I kinda envision him with the body I want, in terms of gender expression, top surgery is the only thing I'd consider getting. I think he figures it out at a pretty young age. I can just imagine him being like 9-10 years old and just declaring he's not a girl, and everyone's like yeah, gods must've been drunk making you, yeah that happens. And that was that. Maybe he uses a name that would have been given to him if he was born male, or just a family name. (I mean he doesn't exactly have nameberry.com lol) I think that'd be nice, the last connection to his family. Technically he still has a surname, but he doesn't use it, and he hasn't bothered to make up another. He just avoids using it.

(Unfortunately, that didn't help much as Clyde figured out where he was from based on his accent before he changed that too. It wasn't hard to find gossip of a magical teen runaway from a rural village... He called Eldwin by his surname once. Had Eldwin been more experienced he might have hid his shock, but alas, it was shortly after he was bought and now the games up) Maybe he gave them a false first name too, and Clyde found that out as well. And Clyde very rarely calls Eldwin by his name - only ever as a subtle threat that he knows where he's from, knows his family. Just one little word keeps him in line.
