I think noctis' childhood traumas would probably be a big part of his regression unfortunately. like when his back pain flares up from his childhood injury or his dad emotionally neglects him (THANKS FOR THE FATHER ISSUES REGIS) he gets the urge to feel little, dresses in a onesie and pacifier, and snuggles up in bed with his teddy while watching disney movies and having a smol crying session to himself. he's just so LONELY and.....ugh someone help him *sobs*
LATEST REPLY EVER!!! but yes i agree! i dont particularly think regis is a /bad/ dad per-se, it just kind of comes with being king/not having time/etc etc and its unfortunate. i dont think he wanted to be like that but you know, wanting something to be different doesnt mean it changes.
i like to imagine when he was younger noct of course had iggy around to hang out + do stuff with (which, i think has its own issues, being the de facto parental figure while you are also a kid isnt great, i can attest to that!) but naturally when hes older hes got the other bros as well so hes not /as/ lonely anymore!
