I believe in ‘slow’. And I believe that going slower means we see more - like sunsets and smiles and colours and faces. When we don’t rush; when we stop believing that what we are doing is so so important that the world will stop turning if we don’t get it done; then we will see so much more. Like the value of the person you just met. Like the taste of the food you just ate. Like the lonely person you just passed but you didn’t take time to look. Like the partner you have but who you know you have got too busy to bother to build up and encourage any more. Like the kid in your life who asks to play and you find yourself over and over and over saying later and later and later. It’s hard, I know. Life screams deadlines and pace and that fast is good. But going slow changes our perspective on this. And when I come to @greenbeltfestival I am reminded of slow. You see, when you are camping it takes an age for the water to boil. You have to sit and wait. And you have to wait for other stuff too. And the result is that you just go slower. Much slower. So think of me as I watch the water boil and the sun rise. These things strangely, are like thin places. In fact I think all of life is full of these thin place moments where we can see heaven and earth touching; where we can notice God - if only we were going slow enough to notice. #thinplaces #life #spiritual #slow #faith #god https://www.instagram.com/p/Bm227g5hf0p/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1f3nfmbdxhob2
