REPPEAL THE THIRD AMENDMENT
What has the state of The United States Of America come to, that something so precious, so grave in its grandeur as the third amendment has not been repealed yet? One waits and waits, time passes by quickly, one could wait all day, and its enough to drive a boy such as I mad. MAD I SAY. These ruffians say there isnt any reason to reppeal it, which is utter nonsensical poppycock, when you start truly thinking about it.
Must I, a humble patriot of sentiment and wit, endure this intolerable constancy. This ghastly predicament, Must I? MUST I TRULY? A world where one wouldnt let, cold, burly. swole, soldiers into their home, their dwelling, their very own domicile, a place where soldiers can find rest and sanctuary in these cold nights. A world where, one wouldnt let a measly private into your own living room?
No.. I won't allow it, ill be loud, ill be proactive, ILL LET THE WHOLE WORLD HERE ME SCREAM
I believe in a world, where we can all call, burly soldiers, big muscular soldiers with just a tad chest hair, unto our property, unto our home. I am proud to say I would let a clean, routine oriented man, with steady and strong hands, a true server of the proud nation, into my own home. Even into my own bed for warmth, for snuggles. Who wouldnt?
WAKE UP AMERICA. EVERYONE WOULD
In these cold nights. You should be ashamed if you dont support snuggling with soldiers.
Reppeal the third amendment, and bring them into our homes.
Came across this story on twitter, about how Russian soldiers stationed in Belgorod (Russia) were reportedly looting the private homes they were stationed in. And a lot of the commentators are saying “stuff like this is why the Third Amendment exists.”
No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.
Now, the “manner prescribed by law” (probably Congressional, although there could be some really interesting cases there if the President’s war powers are enough) is definitely more restrictive than “the military can just order it whenever”, but I think people forget the last part, which does remain a pretty huge exception.
Actually, legitimate question: this amendment is pretty absolute in its phrasing. Does it actually say that US soldiers cannot be quartered in any home, anywhere in the world?
I wish I could somehow telepathically convey how big a deal it is that suddenly USA is sanctimoniously demanding that cities quarter soldiers who have been deployed specifically to attack their residents!
like if I could go back in time and show footage of this shit to the blowhards telling me why America Is Great, how completely one could overturn just everything they offered for a proof, but like -
the freedom from quartering troops was this thing they drilled into my little head in public school - long before I could formulate a concept or understanding of what that meant? the way the culture got it across eventually was extremely cruel and rude nazis shoving their way into french villages, taking all their food, killing people, setting up shop in their houses.
allowing police departments to remain in cities they've repeatedly violently attacked is the same thing - they attack the population, they do no other work, & it costs us a lot of money to pay them to torture, main, and kill us.
I'm not a defender of constitutional doctrine - but the Third Amendment is right there. It's not a lot of wiggle room about "except when we say differently" or "it's okay to forcibly inhabit a city if its governor is offended that people don't want to be attacked".
if the "government" isn't prepared to do anything but wield force against us, then it's just an occupying army & we have to get to work treating it as such - that means providing for each other and establishing systems to do what it won't do (and what its corporate backers will oppose).
I don't see a reason to make distinctions between police and national guard - or any other heavily armed assailant whose aim is to destroy life in order to quell popular dissent.
The Founding Fathers were dumb. Because they made the Constitution and they numbered it, and the order is weird. They sat down, they had a feather- they knew how to make a pen, they were just being jerks.
In honor of the Third Amendment finally being invoked after 229 years!
Third Amendment comin in clutch
Maybe in the last episode of TFATWS, Bucky was being so awkward about not asking Sam to stay in his house because he was trying to respect his third amendment rights. He was just thinking “No Winter Soldier shall be quartered in any house without the consent of the owner”.
No one expects the....third amendment!!!!!!
