For to be free is not merely to cast off one's chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.
— Nelson Mandela
“Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions.”
― Dalai Lama XIV
Commitment
What I will try to improve, is to change my way of seeing things. I will try to be able to overcome a bad situation and use that experience as a way of growing and learning. I'll try to stop worrying so much about things I cannot change, since worrying won't do my any good and won't change the fact that what happened, happened. I will also try to stop looking at things so negatively and look at the bright side of things, since I can really be a pessimist at times.
Reflection
This partial, the topic about happiness really made me realize how the term ''happiness'' can mean something completely different to one person than to another. Some people even have a bad definition of happiness and usually confuse it with pleasure or with temporary joy. For example, some people believe money brings happiness since you're able to buy anything and not worry about having financial problems, and maybe money contributes in some way to happiness, because we're not stressed or worrying about that specific part in our lives. But being happy means so much more than that. To be happy you really have to do what you love, and to be yourself under any circumstances. To feel complete, like nothing could go wrong anymore. You don't need a lot of money or even drugs to feel happy. Happiness doesn't just come to you, you don't just sit there complaining about your life, but do something to change it.
Resilience. What is resilience? Resilience is the ability to overcome bad situations and to come back stronger than ever, and with a new perspective. It is the capability to cope with drama, tragedies, and stress. We are not born being resilient, to be resilient we must’ve first faced some difficult situations. We can all develop this trait.
