Third Sight (Landing) By Susan McLean
Connecticut-based Landing released their newest album, ‘Third Sight,’ this past June. This album follows a slew of previous releases featuring cool experimental vibes, as well as more traditional releases. Frontman Aaron Snow spoke about the band’s record label, El Paraiso, an upcoming LP, and the pressing process.
“El Paraiso contacted us last year about doing something for their Impetus Series, which is a series based on improvisational music. Improvisation is a big part of what we do, so we got straight to work. Initial sessions were built upon, layered, and edited and eventually turned into the four songs on the record!" “El Paraiso has a great working relationship with a plant in Europe. They bypassed the test pressing (which is pretty much unheard of!) and the process was incredibly fast! We have a record that was finished a full year before Third Sight that is still waiting in line to be pressed. It's crazy how that works!”
Landing will be releasing an LP this fall; ‘Complekt.’ This LP will offer a different sound than the hazy shoegaze based feel that ‘Third Sight’ has.

You’ve combed the great musical landscape over and over again and have come up empty-handed time and time again. Maybe it’s time to stop looking and just be happy with your collection of Can, NEU!, late 60s…

The magnificent Landing are back with another slice of their dreamy, abstract music. Less earthly, more airy, ‘Morning Sun’ embraces the drone nature of the band, with playful arpeggios swirling with synth swells. It’s a very rich atmosphere, something you can expect Landing to deliver without a hitch. Their new album, Third…
