After my first listen, I quite like this (first) new Jack White. I’m excited, because I HATED his last record, Boarding House Reach—I thought it was a wandering shambles and he’d forgotten to write any quality songs for it. Fear of the Dawn dispelled any worry that he’d repeat that pretty quickly—beginning of side 1 is super solid rock fare, very reminiscent of Icky Thump. Toward the end of side 1 it starts to meander a little, and I started to fear he only had the couple songs in him. But no, side 2 was strong start to finish. Some great neo-psychedelia there, reminded me of Cream or Santana. Last song sounded like the Raconteurs at their best. Seems like a not-Earth-rocking but solid Jack White album; I’m excited for further listens, and for Entering Heaven Alive. Sound quality is as good as you want it to be, got those wonderful clean and dry drums I love Third Man for. Pressing quality is not impressing me—my record is kinda noisy and mistracked for a portion of A2! Gonna clean it and see if I can get it to play better… Y’all made me jealous in 2020 when you were all getting the new Bruce early and mine was two weeks late… I feel I deserve this early delivery! This is the Vault exclusive with hand screen printed cover—I’ll post good views of the whole package in my story. #jackwhite #thirdmanrecords #thirdmanvault #vinyl #vinyladay #lp #vinyloftheday #vinyligclub #vinyljunkie #vinylcommunity #vinylcollective #instavinyl #vinylgram #recordcollector #nowspinning https://www.instagram.com/p/Cb86ne_sxvC/?utm_medium=tumblr
