Vex had been kicked back in his favorite of his clubs most of the day, having very little to do when he wasn't annoying the Light Fae. Life could be rather boring without company, despite his solitary bouts. Regardless, the night was approaching, and he had high hopes for the night's events.
The sun was falling as he leaned against the back of the bar, watching as the usual crowd finally started to pour into the large area. The pulsing dark-wave music was perfect for a Friday night at Carpe Noctem, when everyone was finally getting off work and the college-going humans were getting out of their classes; everyone just wanted to dance, drink, and get laid. Truly, that was the jist of why the Mesmer was bothering to be there himself. He needed more-than-a-couple strong drinks, some conversation, and a bit of burnt-off-energy.
So far, the people--humans and Fae alike--who had entered the club weren't holding Vex's interest for very long. Of course, most humans didn't hold his attention for the simple fact that they were human, but there were a couple... The Fae that had showed up were mostly indifferent, and that was just as well; he didn't get along with most of his kind these days either.
Finally, a wonderfully familiar face made her way through the crowd. Her raven hair was spewed across her shoulders beautifully, naturally for once. He secretly always liked her natural hair over the wigs. Zoning partially into his thoughts, he didn't realize that she had arrived on the other side of the bar until she said something to him that he didn't quite catch. Blinking, he hid his surprise by pausing to light a cigarette, blowing the smoke away from the human before he asked, "'Ello. Sorry, love, but I didn't quite catch what'cha said there." He paused, waiting for her to repeat herself even though it doubtfully had been all that important.
