Hi Maria! While watching some R-videos in the background, a question came to mind. There are scenes, maybe even just moments, that make me go all heart-eyes, be it a jiggly thigh or a twitching eyebrow. So what are your absolute breathtakers in Rammstein's videos? ♡

Reading this ask made me audibly sigh - and immediately sent my mind on a chaotic journey through Rammstein's videography as a whole, and I realised how weirdly specific some of my 'breathtaker' moments are 😃❓ I could've chosen even more, yet had to call it quits at some point, so here's my messy list (no particular preferences here, just heart eyes overall):

1. Richard in the 'Rammstein in Amerika' documentary, vividly narrating how the band was snatched off-stage during the Halloween concert 1998. The way he's sitting up, like "oh I have to tell this story properly" gets me every time. He's so relaxed on his lounger, yet gets super alert here 🗣️☝🏻🗯️

2. A man and his killswitch: he's so wonderfully enjoying the effect of it, like he's locked in, looks to the side and you see how he hovers over the switch one last time, then stops like "Wha-.. I should stop? Well if you say so...🥲". Somehow this is a charming little situation which shows his enthusiasm which I find so endearing.

3. His smoking in the 'Rammstein XXXIII' trailer. Quoting my mother: "He really smokes sexy, like a 1920's actor", and I think she's right 🤚🏻

4. Richard's whistling during the 'Engel' performance at Rock im Park 2017 (my second Rammstein concert back then) - it kind of looks like he really has to concentrate on mimicking the whistle, the small blep adding to it, and it think it's just adorable.

5. His head movements during the Velodrom gig in Berlin in 2001, especially the 🙂‍↔️🙂‍↔️🙂‍↔️ while he plays his solo. He does that during the solo in 'Rammstein in Paris' as well, just vibing with his tunes:

6. Another oddly specific one is Richard hoisting up his sword in the 'Deutschland' MV. The whole MV is a lovely gold mine for a history enthusiast like me, and knight!Richard does have my heart:

7. And then there's the smooth wink of boxer!Richard and once again I'm asking why I'm not a flapper girl in the 1920s visiting shady, and most likely illegal, boxing matches:

8. Two examples of Richard's scrunched up little face when he laughs oh so freely ('Anakonda im Netz' as well as the 'Mein Herz brennt' making of):

And here we are at the point which started all of this *vaguely gesturing at my blog and overall obsession* gangster!Richard's first appearance in the 'Ich will' MV - friends who watch this MV with me always have to endure my "ok now...now...ok NOW look, THAT'S the moment"-speech, since this was the moment I knew I was doomed:

10. And to finish this all off, another scene in the 'Ich will' MV is the one which evokes the good old 'God I wish that were me'-sentiment:

Richard's goodbye screens were some sort of unintentional focus of mine during the last tour - every concert night I was eagerly waiting for this specific footage of him, getting way too close to the camera and saying thank you to or awkwardly flirting (?) with about 50 000 people all at once 😌 So here are some little gems (and some very concentrated winking) of the 2024 tour:

This ask sent me into meditation - into introspection - weighing decisions and borderline despair... 15 can be a lot and at the same time very little, but now I dare to finalize my selection and hope I won’t stumble across the ultimate Richard picture in five minutes that makes me go, ‘Ohh right, that one!’. Otherwise, we’d have a bit of a Ross Geller x Isabella–Rossellini moment happening:

Anyway, moving on from unnecessary Friends-references, on to the list, which got a bit too detailed, since of course I didn’t miss the opportunity to list the reasons a bit for every single picture I chose. Just like the perfectly normal and very rational fangirl that I am. Let's go (in no particular order).

Lots of wonderful chest hair in plain sight, with a leather vest with is just a tiny bit too tight and the cuddly cardigan I grew so fond of:

2. THE picture for 21 year old Maria 10 years ago. I had it as my phone background for like a year and a half. His side profile? Incredible.

3. Listen. Don't ask me to form coherent thoughts if this picture is anywhere near me. Don’t even try to get anything sensible out of me. Scruffy holiday dad is cooking breakfast and I sure am hungry. (Don't look at me while I say embarrasing shit like this)

4. Ultimate fanfiction-Richard to me. So cozy, so casual, so ready to go on a cute date. At least in my mind.

5. I just feel blessed when there's chest hair to look at, especially during more recent eras. Falling right into his cleavage, head first if you care:

6. Seeing Richard laugh so heartily is so wonderful - you could study him like he's under a microscope. Lovely smile lines, sweet crunch of his nose, just an unguarded, warm expression.

7. Perfect view of my favourite outfit on him for me. I even wrote the Rammstein management to know more about this coat (like designer, etc) because I'm so obsessed with it. Incomprehensibly, they didn’t respond to this extremely important concern, which left me quite dissappointed.

8. The quality of this picture is so good, you could count his eyelashes one by one. Not that anyone would've given this endeavour a serious try, nope.

9. I know this is more of a screenshot of the Loudwire interview and not a proper picture itself, yet he's incredibly handsome in this interview, so I couldn't leave it out. I quite like the hair on him as well as the black and white nailpolish.

10. Kind of a vampire aesthetic, which I of course adore.

11. So much to love here. His soft, almost worried-looking expression, his lazy eye...

12. I think this goes without explanation - I do it anyway: Him gazing into the distance, that damn moustache which looks so right on him, the suspenders and the rolled up sleeves - all in all a very dangerous combination. Plus, his eye colour really gets to shine.

13. Look at this happy bean!!! A thousand smooches for him 🤲🏻

14. Again the Noir shirt which I adore on Richard, and broad as a barn door. Those arms could ju- *I get dragged off the stage by a comically large hook*

15. Ok, now, I could write a dissertation about this picture. He looks utterly concentrated and connected to the music in this one, the red smudge in his hair is back, lovely eyeshadow, the scrunched eyebrows, a vest and trousers which seem very properly filled, and, my favourite thing in this picture: his arm. You can see some slight unevenness in the skin just above his sleeve, probably the kind that comes from tissue softening a bit with age — maybe even a small vaccination scar (?). And these tiny imperfections, these signs of aging and becoming softer, are driving me absolutely insane.

As you can see, my selection pretty much concentrates on a more current Richard - older, a bit more softer, more mature. I very much enjoy early Rammstein content, his 90s looks as well as his iconic Reise Reise era outfit of course have their own allure - yet old man Richard has all my heart. 🤍

In your opinion, what's the hottest thing Richard has ever done? (An outfit, motion on stage, interview thing, something so seemingly mundane we can't help but go feral over it?)

This took me a while, since I had to make a list first, bring some organization into it, narrow it down to prevent it from getting ridiculously long... and yet, I'm guessing that no one here is surprised that this is a bit of a lengthy answer. 👀

I have divided the list into two sections to give a better overview, so here we go:

Richard's presence and mannerisms on stage and in interviews

1.1 Leg stretching

A pose typical of Richard, whether to appear particularly irresistible or to relieve his back - it is intriguing in any case 😌

1.2 Head tilt

Richard does this sometimes, and it seems as if he is casting disapproving looks into the crowd. One might think it does have the potential to make some people go feral 👀

1.3 Growling and his presence behind the mic

Richard shows great joy and intensity as soon as he stands at the microphone (he wanted to sing himself at the beginning of Rammstein). He has a great voice, looks incredibly good and intense while singing, and don't even get me started on his growling (like here or a list of it here)…

1.4 My favorite coat

I have a particular fondness for this coat - my favorite thing about it being the perfect blend of vampire vibe and a bit of rebellious punk with the studs:

1.5 Leaning forward

Another signature move - another opportunity for me to spontaneously combust:

1.6 Taking off his sleeves last year

I witnessed him with bare forearms live twice last year, which is still hard to wrap my head around. It's like seeing the most charming and elegant ankles of an otherwise very proper Victorian lady:

1.7 Fiddling with his hands/rings

This is a trait that comes up again and again in interviews, such as here in the well-known 'Loudwire' interview - Richard probably does this subconsciously, but it showcases his hands beautifully 😌

1.8 Smiling and laughing

I find his smile exceptionally charming, his whole face lights up and it looks so genuine. Plus, his laughter sometimes goes through several phases—from charming, confident gentleman to completely unrestrained guffawing to dorky giggling 🤲🏼

2. Things he expressed in interviews which I greatly appreciate and which make him wonderfully irresistible (at least to me)

2.1 Genuine love and interest for his kids

In interviews, Richard often talks about his children - how they inspire him, ground him, and give him a sense of lightheartedness that he himself doesn't possess very much. Here, for example, he mentions how much he wished for a daughter with his third child on the way and how excited he was to be present at the ultrasound appointment. In another interview (which I still have to find again), he describes the births of his daughters, which he witnessed, as very moving and incomparable. Of course, there are many men now who have a similar approach, but I still find it beautiful when it is discussed openly and emotionally.

2.2 His unwavering enthusiasm for the things he enjoys

Not much to say here, as it's once again a very 'Richard' thing to do, for which he is widely known - yet I find time and time again so very interesting and lovely listening to him talk about his passion. I love it when people have something they are completely absorbed in, something they are 150% enthusiastic about. I find that extremely appealing 😌

2.3 His openness about his weaknesses

Richard has developed considerably over the last few decades, it has to be said. In the 90s and early 2000s, he would certainly not have admitted so openly in interviews that he is easily overwhelmed, needs a lot of time to himself, prefers to drown himself in coffee in the morning rather than say a word, has severe mood swings at times and, due to this kind of introversion, has to explain himself sometimes in his private life (all information from this podcast - I love it so much and really consider translating it someday). I appreciate his openness about these perhaps not-so-flattering traits, and I love his honesty 🤍

I know, I don't know this man personally, so some of this is, of course, from the detached perspective of an outside fan looking at what an artist reveals about himself in public - nevertheless, I am very grateful for the Richard we get to experience 😊🤍

I, as some of my mutuals most likely have noticed in the past, am quite the chest and belly hair enjoyer - and I find it quite charming that Richard has quite distinctive hair growth. Very centred in the middle of his chest between his pectoral muscles and quite centred around his navel, but unfortunately we have hardly seen this pattern of hair growth since the early 90s.

Yet it's a blessing for the eyes to witness every snippet of chest hair we get, so I'm very glad for every picture we have of hairy Richard. Which is a version of him we should encourage, so please #hairyRichard, come back and save us with your now greying body hair 🙏🏻
