is "borderline OCD" a thing? my mom was telling me about how once when i was 7 (so this was almost 13 years ago which could be a factor) she and my dad took me to a psychiatrist who apparently said i had "borderline OCD" and like?? nothing i have found talks about that at all

I don’t think ‘borderline ocd’ is a thing. I think they may have meant that the disorder was in its infancy at that point and could have potentially been nipped in the bud before it got worse. that’s what it sounds like to me, at least.

to anon - since i have trust issues etc and i have trouble talking abt my symptoms and i was 13 at the time so my experience might not be typical, but after ~6 months my therapist basically diagnosed me with ocd (not official bc she was a social worker) and then i got a neuropsych to test for adhd, through which i was officialy diagnosed. idk if this is helpful but here u go!!!

TOCDFW everything has to be only in certain numbers and there are good numbers and bad numbers and if you are on a bad number (84 likes, 13 on the tv volume, stuff like that) you just feel like somthing bad is going to happen and you're freaking out
