Not in order (and most likely not ALL but I only need 30. On top of my head)
Whenever my lolo Mar would come for a visit he has a box of Munchkins from Dunkin Donuts. Which at that time didn’t seem to matter, but when he passed I couldn’t seem to remember him without entering our house without his trusty backpack and a box of munchkins at hand.
The very first time I visited Sydney in 2011
The first time I saw my parents again after a couple of years - Its true when they say you only get to appreciate them truly after you’ve moved out of the house and realise that suddenly, no one is checking up on you every 5 hours or that when you get home from work you have to cook your own meal regardless of how tired you are or you will die of hunger.
I got stuck in the girl’s bathroom in kindergarten with my cousin Kayna. I cried like a baby 2 minutes after realising that the door is locked and we couldn’t get out.
That time we threw stones at this boy when we were about 7 years old. Again with my cousin Kayna. Why you asked? Because he was smelling us and it pissed us off.
Every single youth camp I’ve attended during summer
Summer nights in Olongapo where I grew up. My friends would come over our house at around 7pm. We’d talk about everything, play the guitar and just sit outside our house till the wee hours of the morning. Nevermind that the mosquitos would hang out with us and bite us as if they’re in a buffet. We’d do that every single day.
Summer means no money. And whenever we would hang out our house we’d buy pandesal and pancit canton from they money we collect from each other. Normally 20’s and 10’s. lol
The very first time a guy surprised with me with flowers and chocolates. The dead ex and I had a huge fight and we broke up over the phone. He was in the States and I was in Manila. He sent me a dozen of red roses and a massive box of ferreros.
When again, he surprised me with my favourite flowers and sent it to my office on my birthday.
The very first time I got paid from my first job.
When a friend drove me down south just so I can hang out at this place where the guy I was so into hangs out a lot. He wasn’t even there. LOL
When the same friend (April, yes a woman) and I checked in to a motel just so we’d know what it feels like and what the fuss is all about. LOL
When I graduated College. I was 17.
When this guy (see number 12) and I saw each other for the very first time after a long time. He was driving and our song played on the radio and we looked at each other. It was perfect. Almost. Except that my current boyfriend (see number 9) was sitting right beside him and in front of me. LOL
The first time I met dead ex’s parents. I had to buy a “decent” top because his mom is very old fashioned.
That crazy crazy time friends and I were wasted drunk and driving along Commonwealth avenue during a crazy storm. The things I did…maaaan.
My first kiss…naturally. It wasn’t anything I expected it would be. It was in the school’s stock room while I was in detention arranging books.
When I was about 9 or 10. My parents would leave the house for work at 6am. I’d take care of my siblings who was 7 and 3 I think at that time. And I’d be their mum until real mum gets back at dinner.
The first time I learned how to cook. My dad taught my how to cook sautéed mung beans. Only to find out years after that it was his favourite.
Moving into my first REAL grown up apartment.
My 28th Birthday. Spent at the beach with closest friends and they surprised me with turon ice cream cake.
“I opened my eyes and saw him looking at me”
I was maybe 6 or 7. I don’t remember. All I remember was I accidentally broke a whole case of beer from my grandma’s store and oh boyyyy was she pissed. And my grandpa saved me.
That time I was playing with bubble gum and accidentally sticked it on my brother’s head. My mum had to cut his hair to take em off.
My first ever corporate job
Seeing my best friend for the first time in a year. She moved to the states and came home for a visit without me knowing. We were yelling at our door for 5 minutes (and I’m not even kidding) because that was probably the very first time someone ever surprised me.
Today. The 3rd of November 2014. Realising that in two days I am turning 30 and its slowly creeping up on me. Here I am looking for the rewind button.
