Despite the violent abuse Kisa had suffered at the hands of Akito, she never saw the world of possible danger she existed in. The innocence and goodness of Kisa made it impossible for her to see the bad in anyone or the world around her which sometimes made her a target for more than just ridicule from her peers and classmates. Where anyone else saw a ravenous mutt rooting through the garbage on a street corner, Kisa saw a lost and lonely puppy who just needed a friend and a bite to eat that she was all-too willing to offer from the leftovers of her lunch she hadn’t eaten at school. She’d approached the creature slowly, speaking softly to assure her friendly intentions but just when she was about to reach out her hand with a bit of crust from her sandwich she was suddenly yanked back by the scruff of her sweater and uniform. Dazed for a moment, Kisa looked up with wide eyes to see Haru hovering over her and positioning himself protectively in front of her. She momentarily lost her use for words as she just blinked at him in response, feeling suddenly as if she wanted to cry but not necessarily understanding why. “I’m sorry... I just thought he might be hungry...”
