From the person that told you that her father passed away briefly after I messaged you for the first time:
Hi, how are you? I really, really, really hope life is doing you justice and that you're enjoying our rather short and minima time on this big ass rock. I hope that you find the motivation to keep doing anything you want, and I hope you enjoy the things you're currently doing, and I hope everything is doing well.
And, because I know you are a polite person, I inform you that I'm doing well. Grieving, crying from time to time, settling this ache in my bones that I never felt but somehow I'm feeling now, and realizing that somehow I always felt, but I'm doing fine. If I am honest to you, I was lucky enough to have a father that loved me and cherished me and literally gave his last breath to ask the others to help me and never leave. He might not have been a perfect man, but he surely was the perfect father. And I'm crying while writing this, but I need to say this.
I like your stories and I kind of like you. You seem nice. I hope life is good for you. I hope life is good for all of us. Thank you.
This made me tear up when I first read it, I remember laying in bed and choking up. I've been thinking about you since you sent that second message. I’m sorry this is coming several months late. I’m definitely riding the high of seeing my fav on screen to finally find the energy to write back, but I’m grateful I at least can even answer right now.
Thank you so much for the well wishes. They really do mean a lot. It’s been rough, I won’t lie. It’s been rough and got even worse and got even worse and got better and then got much much worse again. But the arts are there and if there’s one thing writing Ghosts has taught me, it’s my most powerful voice when it comes to connecting—and that connection has been so healing, so I’m very thankful for it. I think I’ll always have motivations to pursue them. I always want to touch and be touched by people, (even when I don’t.) Your father sounds like such a gentle person god... I’m so happy he gave as much as he did to you. I’m sure it still doesn’t feel like enough. I don’t know where you are in your grieving process these days—I know it never really stops. I hope this answer doesn’t nudge you in the wrong direction or find you at a bad time. I know the holidays are coming so you’re probably thinking about it anyway, with this being the first without him. I’m holding you through it. And I’m proud you reached out as many times you did, even if I was late to respond this time, I want you to know you were in my thoughts and I was always holding your feelings. I really hope it is too. You have all my love and blessings, and certainly your dad’s too. I hope this world is kind to you, and if it’s not, I hope you have the strength to overcome all the shit it throws at you anyway. Sending much much love...I’m holding you always.
