I’ve been hanging out a bit on the asoiaf subreddits and I think the main take is that yeah they’ll be canon in some form but Jaime will leave her for Cersei. And it will either be because he loves Cersei more or because he doesn’t love himself enough to love Brienne. Which is... well, I guess they’re at least accepting the romantic foreshadowing now. That’s an improvement. I guess they just haven’t realised how much foreshadowing there actually is, though, and how done Jaime really is with Cers

Whoops, forgot to sign, but it was me suggesting you write a Gilfic. I get so mad about this. In book canon, he pined away for years. Fine, but MWB modernized Gilbert which meant a healthier response to Anne’s rejection: accept it and try moving on. But then he STILL shot his shot, thought he got rejected again, and stayed loyal to Anne in the end anyway. What else did they want from him? -DK

Of course it was you :') There aren't many things that I hate more than men not being able to take no for an answer because they think they know better than women what their needs or desires are; therefore I couldn't be more grateful that awae Gilbert isn't like that. This boy figured out AT 18 that he was never going to love anyone the way he loves Anne, and that if she didn't feel the same way about him that was alright, because he wants her to be happy, but as far as it concerns him, he's willing to spend the rest of his life alone because she's the only one he'll ever be in love with. Can I stress that he was 18 when he figured all of this out, and made such a commitment? I don't know what it is that people want from him, honestly. Try and find someone like this irl, see how that works out.

That's why he screamed when he thought Hanna was dead, that's why he was working with Mona someone he dislikes the entire episode, that's why he (aside from mona) was the only one trying to get shit done. If he was really a "fuckboy" that didn't give a flying fuck about anything but his "man pain" he would have spent the episode relishing and relieved that Hanna was being tortured and could possibly die because that means Spencer never finding out about the kiss, if he really was a "fuckboy" who only cared about his "manpain" he would have spent the entire episode trying to get his dick wet. But no, all he did was act in a way that a normal human being would in this type of situation. Though ya'll did get one thing right, he does feel guilty which probably does heighten his frustrations and fears, but to say he doesn't actually care. After everything we've seen of Caleb you are willing to lay him out like a pig for slaughter because of his attitude the last few days yet forgive every single other character that has done way worse?
