People on tumblr are entirely too comfortable with making bold claims and then providing literally zero evidence or sources to back them up. And for some reason nobody cares. What a terrifying world to live in.

I really, really want to be a real life hero

i want to be part of the hand that dismantles the corrupt systems here and abroad and throw out all the shitty politicians that take away peoples' rights and deny people the equal treatment they deserve. I want to be part of the force that kicks cops out and sees to it that they can never again harm innocent people. I want to carry out justice in whatever way I can, by any means possible. I want to do what I see people do in shows, but applied to real life, and real life villains. I see people doing way more than me, and I want to be them, or at least obtain some of their greatness.

But where I am, and where I'm headed, the only few things I can do like 'contacting my senator' or voting (which is a tiny drop in the hopeless bucket) is just so fucking useless. I want what i do to mean something and I want people to look back on it and believe they can fight back against all the shit they see going on. I want to do whatever I can to feel proud of where I live, since my pride is in the negatives.

The truth is, I don't hold any influence over a large number of people, and I can't organize with anyone around me because I don't know how. I am not a leader, most of the time. I want to do something useful and good but right now I only feel pathetic.
