Casey Delilah Wells was born in London, England, to an American father and a british mother. She was one of three girls for most of her life and in a wealthy family she seemingly wanted for nothing. Her father was a hedge fund manger from Boston and his mother a Pediatric Doctor turned housewife after losing her fourth child when he was only six months to pneumonia. She couldn’t face treating other people’s children when her own hadn’t managed to pull through and this threw her into a deep depression.
She was supposedly dedicating her time to her three daughters Tatum (20) Casey (14), and Tallulah (6 - at the time), but she wasn’t really checked in. Casey saw her mother go from a strong woman to a husk of her former self and she could hardly bare it. When she was sixteen she insisted that she be sent back to the USA for boarding school, and then finally collage, where she attended Harvard Law until she was 24 getting the top education that money could buy. She wanted to get away from the pain that had encompassed her family, but it didn’t work as she’d hoped it would. It was in her first year of collage that life began to fall apart drastically for Casey yet again. Her mother took her youngest sister Tallulah and drove her to Dover under the guise of a holiday as congratulations on her recent exam results. However they had only been there 12 hours when her mother pitched their car off the edge of a cliff, killing them both on impact and destroying the rest of her family’s life forever.
Casey hadn’t seen Tallulah or her mother in a whole year, and the gap that their death left in her life she tried to fill with work, work and more work. Eventually succumbing to pills and other various study aids to keep her on top. She spiraled down into a deep depression that she became a pro at covering up with a tight smile and a smart quip, but the truth was the girl was never going to be the same again. She could hardly look at Tatum, her other sister, without seeing their mother since their features were so alike, and she strayed from her family even worse than she had before. She now hasn’t seen them in three years, and doesn’t really like talking about them at all. She looks perfect on the outside, but she is actually just a husk like her mother had become, searching for something to fulfill her and hoping if she worked hard enough it might be her job. Maybe if she hit on the right case she would be able to save someone else in the way she couldn’t save her own family. She was controlling of herself and controlling of the situations around her, to feel out of control was something that sent Casey into a tailspin. Often she would turn to alcohol, self harm, and prescription pills to drown memories and emotions in a drunken, drugged up haze, just to give her some kind of relief. She wanted to feel something, something strong and real. She is her own worst enemy.
About five months ago Casey found out she was pregnant by her boyfriend/not boyfriend Elias Morgan. Shocked to say the least she decided to keep the baby, which they later found out was twin girls. Battling with her pregnancy as well as working a full time job Casey is run even more ragged than usual, she is supported by Elias but everything is still causing her to run herself into the ground. So emotionally blocked off she only just admitted that he was her boyfriend, she’s yet to realise she loves him or tell him, but slowly he is breaking down her emotional barrier which Casey finds terrifying.
