I will not have access to my main computer or a good internet connection for the next two weeks, and thus will not be able to perform the usually scheduled updates for the Recycled Movie Costumes website and its tumblr. Regularly scheduled posts should resume on April 17th.

That being said, I can still post some content on tumblr via my phone, so I will try to post some articles and answer some questions I’ve been sent that I’ve not had the time to answer until now.

Also, I know quite a lot of you here on tumblr have not explored the main website for Recycled Movie Costumes. The link is below, and I would highly encourage you do that, as there are hundreds more costumes posted there that have not been put onto tumblr before. If you’re looking for content - it’s there!

Please do keep sending in your submissions! I love getting them, and obviously will work to get back to posting them as soon as I am back in front of my normal computer.

i just realized one of the reasons it’s been so hard to know who’s fronting

we’ve typically been trying to say “i’m [name]” when trying to say who’s fronting. but it always feels distinctly Wrong. it feels wrong enough that sometimes we’ll be sure who’s speaking but then, after saying “I’m so-and-so”, suddenly be unsure—and this has made us feel like we can’t tell, like maybe we aren’t even a we.

but saying “this is [name]” avoids this feeling of wrongness and allows us to be confident in what we say, in who we know we are.
