The fact that it was Mike's room (specifically his closet!!) that we see get destroyed in episode 2, not Nancy's, is soooo rich. They could've also showed Nancy's room being destroyed because they showed the destruction of practically every other room in the house, but they didn't. Neither Nancy nor Mike were there for the attack.
The two rooms we don't see / don't see destroyed are Nancy's room and the basement. So, hypothetically if the two elder Wheeler siblings had to go back home at some point in vol 2, Nancy could take her room just fine, but Mike wouldn't, he'd basically be forced into the basement--unless he cleaned up all that mess, but really who has time for that now?
And mom and dad aren't home, right? Jonathan can stay in Nancy's room, no big deal, i'm sure they're scared as hell to be apart at this point.
So then Mike's initial suggestion of having Will stay with him...that'll come true, just not as he imagined. They'll both be assigned to the basement, but I don't think they'll mind.
