He looks at you, a hint of hesitation on his usually determined ones.
“I’m don’t want to force you to do anything you don’t want to” he starts, his voice lower than usual “but…hmm…why you never knitted me anything?”
You want to bust out laughing, this big military man, been to war and came back to tell the history, he could sleep on a pointy rock and say nothing about it. But his eyes are so filled with worry and doubt you don’t even know how to react when his natural intimidating demeanor just looks so small and vulnerable.
He saw you make a little cover for nearly every object in the house, gloves for his niece, a little purse to your work friend. Why nothing for him? Ever. You’ve been together for years now, and yet he never won not even a single keychain.
“Well” you start “ have you ever heard about the curse?”
He looks confused, you could just say you don’t want to, but before he says anything you cut him.
“On the knitting community we have this superstition, that once you knit something for a significant other the relationship is doomed. One year o the lucky scenarios and break up before you even finished” you look into his eyes, and slowly touch his face “and I honestly don’t wanna risk it”
“That’s silly” he replies a his eyes crunching while a little smile forms on his lips and you can see a little pink dust on his cheeks.
“Might be, but im not taking chances” he gets even closer, cheeks undoubtedly pink now giving you a little kiss on the lips.
“Love you too”
