Ahh the feeling of having to protect everyone from you is so real. Like, that post doesn’t have any descriptors of what happened. And yet people reblog it and tag it with CSA tw. Like, the idea that the OP was sexually assaulted as a child is so toxic and scary, we need to warn people so they avert their eyes.
This!
Because, as well all know, what's really terrifying is the words CSA/sexual assault.
But seriously, the way I figure it is all it does is tell people that their experiences of sexual assault are so intolerable they have to hide it, censor it and just never talk about it. And instead it leaves people always questioning what they can share, is it too much? Are /they/ too much? Are their thoughts and feelings too much for anyone else to cope with. Better keep your mouth shut than spend every conversion second guessing what you can and can't say. Better shut up than risk making someone else uncomfortable. And the whole cycle starts again.
I kinda hate the fact sexual assault has become a whispered dirty word. Doesn't seem to help us that have been through it and kinda makes it easier for it to happen at the same time.
