today my brother’s fiancee took me shopping as a belated birthday present and we were in h&m and i was looking around on my own and usually i feel awkward and sad but i held my head high and i actually felt confident instead of uncomfortable!

last year my parents made me keep the door open when i had boys in my room and now they let them sleep over,, god bless

today i've subsisted almost entirely on swedish and i'm so proud of myself i can barely stand it

at the train station i had a full conversation with two campaigners about voting and my exchange and i understood the majority of it without having to translate anything into english

then i went to two cafés and both answered and understood questions that weren't just "vad vill du ha?" and "sittar du här?" and managed to ask everything i needed to - which was surprisingly a lot - in swedish

0 english at all with the staff

things are going very well

i just navigated a new voicemail setup entirely in swedish and i am disproportionately proud of myself for doing so

i used to really hate wearing dresses and makeup before i had a word for my gender, and now that i know what it is i'm slowly getting to the point where i can wear whatever the fuck i want and feel like a badass enby rather than a girl
