I think itd be incredibly cool if Paris showed that Mathews addiction wont go away by focusing on romantic love. On jumping from crush to crush thats just part of his drive to avoid negative emotion (part of the reasom his addiction has developed to the point it has). That getting bettet doesnt rely on Cordelia, or James, or anyone. Getting better requires he genuinly recognizes he has a problem and thinks hes worth getting better for

I want him to still feel empty when hes in Paris with Cordelia, I want him to admit he *still* feels like shit.

my take is that it would have been very interesting to actually have the brothers’ relationship be fractured at some point mid-show. like truly fracture. like rollo and ragnar in vikings (i have no clue whether you know that show but oh well) to have them working for opposing sides except that id have them ultimately fighting a common enemy toward the end. they’d repare what broke, would be able to have a sibling relationship without the disgusting co-dependency and boom. i dunno if this even makes sense aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

yes !! having the codependency broken thru them Truly fighting on different sides would’ve been so good! the opportunity to use crowley as the “sam character” he was always meant to be comes up bc then you could parallel dean working w cas and sam working w crowley. their allegiances would be the main driving issue AND they could fight until they reached a common enemy. ofc this would have to be like. no more “blood comes first” mentality like, found family rights AND making the boys separate bc it’s good for them. and both sides could have parts in the right and wrong and it’s just. it could be so good. anyway what i’m saying is that they should’ve split up like hank and evan in the s3 finale of royal pains-
