“Stay.” for Emralan :)
Tamralan stirred himself awake, unwrapping an arm from around Emma’s waist to stretch, grunting as his back popped from the effort. The sun streaked through the windows, casting the room in a warm glow, though provided little warmth itself. He kept his eyes stubbornly closed for a moment, snuggling against Emma once more, as if that would negate the fact that it was morning and he needed to start his day.
Fingers stroked his arm, and he smiled, kissing the back of her head. After squeezing her once more, he rolled over to push him up to sit on the edge of the bed. The draft in the room chilled his hot skin and a huge shiver wracked through his body. If he didn’t get up now, he would only slide back under the warm covers and never leave.
Before his foot could touch the ground, fingers wrapped around his wrist.
“Stay.”
Tamralan looked back to Emma with a crooked smile. “Is that really you, Emma? The Emma who had to drag me out of bed most mornings? Who cruelly snatches the blanket off my poor shivering body? Who won’t even speak to me until my feet touch the floor?”
Her fingers tightened around his wrist, lightly tugging him, and smiled at him. A genuine wide smile that left Tamralan breathless every time. “They will survive without your presence for a few hours more.”
“Hmmmm..” He tapped his chin with his free hand. “Only a few hours?”
She tugged again, harder. “You’re shivering. Are you really going to argue with me?”
He fell back into bed at her tugging, then wiggled back under the covers to press against her. Her grip loosened around his wrist and he laced her fingers with his. With his free hand, he tipped her chin to kiss her, at first, chaste, but turned languid and warm with desire that left them both breathless when parted. Her cheeks were flushed, eyes wide, and by the gods, he wasn’t going to pull away from her just yet.
“I think they’ll survive the whole day without their Inquisitor.”
