i realized something tonight

i've realized it before but tonight was kinda different

i let myself be the "sidekick" or the "best friend" 

that's not always a bad thing, but a lot of the time i have kind of a "why would they want to talk to me?" attitude

and recently, i've kind of been like "well fuck that, why wouldn't they?"

i'm at least somewhat interesting and i might not know exactly what to say all the time but who does? 

i let people tell me that i'm second best or "k's friend" and i think i kind of get lost in that sometimes

although the people that do make an effort to talk to me are usually the people that i'd actually want to be friends with rather than the people who barely realize i'm sitting there 

(that does not include the creepy boys trying to fuck me)

i just need to stop applying that attitude to my entire life
