Tony scrubs one hand over his eyes as he shuffles towards the kitchen, yawning and shooting a bleary-eyed glare at the large windows for daring to let in so much of the early morning sunlight.
He’s a couple steps into the kitchen when he actually registers what he’d seen out the window, and he quickly backtracks to make sure his brain isn’t playing tricks on him. After a couple seconds of blinking and staring Tony has to admit that yep, those are giant jellyfish floating through the sky, level with the top level of Stark Tower.
"JARVIS, please tell me I'm imagining this due to a lack of caffeine."
"I'm afraid not, sir," JARVIS says and he sounds entirely too amused, the bastard, "the captain is already on the phone with local law enforcement."
Tony sighs heavily and nods to himself before turning back towards the bedroom to shout "Wake up babe, I think we need to call the wizard. Again."
"Space jellyfish," Bucky mutters to himself as they watch the giant creatures go floating past, back up into the sky.
"You're going to have to stop repeating that at some point," Tony says, but he can't even pretend to be annoyed as he drops his head to Bucky's shoulder.
"And are we sure they're going back home?"
"Only barely,” Tony says happily, "but that's about as sure as we can be, when it comes to space jellyfish. But at least they don't look sad and sickly anymore, so I'm choosing to take that as a good sign."
Bucky hums in agreement, and when Tony glances up at him the shifting lights of the jellyfish cast across his face take Tony's breath away.
