Valicer+ Polyship Week 2025, Day Four: Meet The Family (Running Headlong Into The Bullshit)

Halfway through Valicer+ Polyship Week 2025 now (as per @polyshipweek's reckoning), and today's prompt is actually one I did before back in March during Valicer Multiamory Month -- "Meet The Family!" And while I don't generally like to repeat prompts, the other ones for Day Four weren't really speaking to me --

Whereas this prompt sparked an idea for a fic featuring the Running Headlong Into The Bullshit mega-polycule! You know, the one that features Alice, Victor, Smiler, Victoria, Emily, Christopher White, Richard Hatter, Preston Garvey, and Piper Wright? Ever since writing the story for "Day Nineteen: Chatfic/the polycule group chat" back during Valicer Multiamory Month, I quite wanted to do another story with all of them chatting to each other online like that, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. So let's venture back into the Running Headlong group chat, where Smiler has an announcement to make to all their various partners/metamours...

ButterflyBoy: I’m sorry for shouting, but – can you IMAGINE your poor parents having to put up with mine, Smiler?! It would be a disaster!

RepressedFlower: And mine would be worse! Mother would be making comments about ‘the lower classes’ the entire time, while Father just sat there and glared!

RepressedFlower: Never mind the fact that your parents probably have more money than mine…

VorpalOne: Technically your parents would need to fetch mine out of their crypt if they wanted to meet them, but I suspect in my case you mean your parents want to meet Nanny

VorpalOne: Which – well, she’s much better than the Van Dorts or the Everglots, but she will NOT be shy about what she does for a living. May even share some work stories. It’s just how she is.

MoonlightDancer: dad and I are still on pretty strained terms after the Barkis mess, so I’m not sure he’d even want to come :(

PublickOccurrences: Dad: dead. Mom: gone and I hope never to see her again after she ditched the rest of us in the middle of the night. Nick: still alive and would probably be happy to meet your parents!

CommonwealthMinuteman: ...I’m not the only one with two still-living and actually decent parents in here, am I?

i want to keep playing black eagles but everytime i open three houses i open it to the gautier inheritance and by god that map is just so. terrible. and then i turn off the game. unfortunately linhardt and lysithea have not learned warp yet so i just have to play it. the worst map ever. who ever designed this, 5000 curses upon ye.
