I find it kinda cruel actually that Glitch Productions thinks it’s cool to release the last episode of The Amazing Digital Circus two weeks early in theaters.
It screws over fans in other countries who won’t be able to see it then, or can’t afford going to a theater. It screws over theater workers that will have to deal with (let’s not kid ourselves) rowdy teens and young adults from a fanbase known to be feral.
It also plays into FOMO. That’s why they’re doing it two weeks early. I’m seeing dozens of people go to see it in theater, directly handing Glitch money, ONLY because they’re scared to get spoiled and want to see it first to not get it ruined for them. They knew full well people will spoil everything on release, this company grew up during fandom era’s and is well aware of marketing so getting as many people to go see it in theaters is a good thing even if it means playing off that anxiety.
Which is totally awesome. Totally not a crappy way to thank fans of the show lol
