concept: mallow gives geno a diary. he worries that he doesn’t let his negative emotions free, so he offers the diary as a way for geno to express himself without hesitation. geno questions how he should use it exactly, and mallow’s like, “just start with ‘dear diary’ and write whatever comes to your mind! don’t even think about it twice. just write whatever! write as your thoughts happen!”
geno pauses. he’s unsure of what to write. however, he takes what mallow says to heart: write as he thinks. he jots down some stuff nonstop, indeed doing so literally, and shows off his diary page with pride. he thinks he did it.
❝ dear diary, uh hmmmmmm what do i even write i need to get some food i’m starving should i get pizza or wings or both uh i dunno ok i can’t think of anything else and the page is almost done so i’m gonna split, later ❞
mallow is incredulous.
