My sister said she was talking to the person sitting next to her on a plane and they were commiserating how they barely see family who live far away and this guy was like "its so hard not seeing my grandparents. It's very annoying when audiobook narrators try to do a desi accent for certain South Asian characters but then can't even pronounce desi words like pallu or Siddharth Gautam properly. Especially when it's a British narrator who looks South Indian and has 'accent chameleon' in bio.

It's an extra level of insulting, where they think they can copy the accent for English words but don't think they need to know how to actually pronounce the non English words. Stick to the British accent if you're gonna mangle words.
