The position that we must have unlimited, unreserved sympathy and compassion for Poor(TM) people who join the armed forces because they're just trying to get out of Poverty(TM) and the US military is so predatory in its recruitment tactics ONLY SERVES TO HELP THE US CONTINUE EXPLOITING POOR PEOPLE

The only way to stop the armed forces from continuing to exploit Poor people is to take a hard stance against Poor people joining the military, to work with the populations it targets and come up with alternatives. We need to stand firmly against military recruitment. The only thing you're doing by claiming that these Poors are morally absolved of their part in crimes against humanity because it "was their only way out of poverty" is JUSTIFYING what YOU called predatory recruitment tactics. All you're doing is lending credibility to the idea that the Poors NEED the military so they can stop being poor.

And anyway, we all know that the people who claim this shit are usually not poor, and, if they claim they are, they are likely lower to mid middle class

The whole "it's illegal to pay women less for the same work, women get paid less because of their career choices, hours they work, and time off" argument is so tired, overplayed and goddamn annoying frankly

Like I'm gonna ignore the fact that you're treating "career choices, hours they work, and time off" as like factors that are isolated from social forces and pressures and dive head first into the claim that these are the ONLY reasons why women earn less when a vast supply of studies exist SHOWING THAT WOMEN ON AVERAGE WILL GET OFFERED SMALLER SALARIES THAN A MAN WITH THE SAME QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE SAME JOB regardless of the field

And like the studies' methodology usually involves taking the exact same resume and submitting it with a woman's vs a man's name SO ??
