#OnThisDay November 13, 1987 THE SISTERS OF MERCY released their second studio album #Floodland which charted at #8 on the @officialcharts and #101 on the @billboardcharts. The album contains the singles #ThisCorrosion #Dominion and #LucretiaMyReflection. After Wayne Hussey & Craig Adams left to form @themissionuk, vocalist Andrew Eldritch first started a side project The Sisterhood in response to Hussey & Adams who were about to name their next band that same name. Then Eldritch decided to enlist Patricia Morrison and continue on as the Sisters. Regarding the album title “Floodland”, Eldritch realized that, after writing all the songs, the theme of water came up multiple times throughout. He attributed the recurrence of this theme to the amount of water within Hamburg, where he was writing these songs.
